The name Aster + Oaks is deeply personal and woven with meaning.
Aster is not only the name of a beautiful wildflower, but also the name of my eldest daughter — a symbol of delicate beauty, resilience, and new beginnings. Oaks is drawn from the image of the mighty oak tree, a biblical symbol of strength, steadfastness, and deep-rooted faith. Together, these symbols speak to the heart of my work: to create art that blooms with gentle beauty, stands with quiet strength, and reminds us of the One who clothes the wildflowers and calls the oaks to rise.
"Bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." - Isaiah 61:3
"Consider how the wildflowers grow: They don't labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these." - Luke 12:27
